On the second Sunday the evening is the easy part.

Doors open at 9:00. The afternoon carries the weekend crowd, and then the 27th does something the Saturday before it does not do: it relaxes after dark.

A Sunday evening is the quietest weekend night you get.

Most of the weekend leaves on Sunday, and the people still on the grounds in the evening are a thinner crowd than the afternoon one. That makes the second Sunday the weekend date where a later plan is actually workable, as long as you are honest that the afternoon is not the relaxed half.

The decision before you leave your hotel

Choose the afternoon or the evening, and plan for that one. For the afternoon, the weekend rule applies and you want to be inside by half past nine. For the evening, you have more room than on any other weekend night of the run.

What to do with that decision

01

If you want the afternoon, treat it as a weekend.

Doors at 9:00 and inside by 09:30 is the window. The unreserved tables go early and there is no standing queue that gets you one later.

02

If you want the evening, this is your weekend night.

The second Sunday loosens after the afternoon in a way the Saturday does not. It is the weekend evening with the best odds of the sixteen days.

03

Remember Monday exists.

The 28th is a quiet stretch. If your trip has both, a Monday tent visit and a Sunday walk around the grounds is an easier pairing than forcing both into the weekend.

These are planning rules, not live occupancy data. Tent access changes during the day; no guide can promise entry.
