Wiesn Ready
Saturday, September 26, 2026 · Munich

The middle Saturday is the heaviest day of a normal year.

In 2025 the Oktoberfest grounds were closed to new arrivals on the middle Saturday, which had never happened before in the event's history. Doors open at 9:00 and the margin for a late start is gone.

09:00Tent doors open
09:30Inside, or the day changes

This is the day plans break.

A tent that reaches capacity stops letting people in, and on the middle Saturday that happens in the morning rather than at lunchtime. There is no queue that moves, because nothing frees up until people leave. Everything about this day is decided before ten in the morning.

The decision before you leave your hotel

Be inside by 09:30 and stay inside, or use this day for something else. The beer gardens attached to the tents are outdoors and looser about seats, and the Oide Wiesn at the south end charges about €4 and has room. Both are real answers on a day when the big tents shut their doors.

What to do with that decision

01

Take a table in the morning and keep it.

On a weekend the honest strategy is a lunch table held through the day. Trying to arrive fresh for the Saturday evening is how people end up standing outside.

02

Send one person out at a time, never the group.

Without a reservation wristband there is no way back into a full tent. Do the rides and the stalls before you go in, or after you are done.

03

Ask whether another day on your trip is free.

If any other date in your trip can carry the tent visit, give it the tent visit and let the 26th be the day you walk the grounds.

These are planning rules, not live occupancy data. Tent access changes during the day; no guide can promise entry.
