A weekend date that behaves like a weekday.
The crowd that filled October 3 has gone home, and what is left on closing Sunday is a lighter, slower day inside the same tents. It is the one weekend date of the run where a walk-in plan is a reasonable plan rather than a gamble.
The decision before you leave your hotel
Use the 4th for the tent you actually wanted. On the heavy dates you take whichever door is still open. On closing Sunday you can choose, which makes it the right day for the room you had in mind rather than the room that will have you.
What to do with that decision
Still treat 09:30 as the window.
Best odds of the weekend is not the same as no queue. The weekend arrival window holds, and the unreserved tables still go first.
Pick by what the room does, not by the name.
There are fourteen large tents and twenty-one small ones, and the same tent is two different places at eleven in the morning and eight at night.
Know when it ends.
Last beer is at 22:30 and the tents close at 23:30. On the final night that is the end of the festival, not the end of the evening.
These are planning rules, not live occupancy data. Tent access changes during the day; no guide can promise entry.
